Our Purpose
1. Glorify God
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. - Ephesians 3:20-21
The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. The ultimate purpose of any local church should be to bring glory to God. We believe that this is not just a good theological statement, but a practical requirement that affects everything that we do. Jesus is the Head of the church, and we desire to follow His will and accomplish His purposes in a way that please Him and shows our world how great He is.
2. Equip Believers
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: - Ephesians 4:12-13
The Lord Jesus never intended for the work of the local church to be done by just a few select people. His plan is for the church to be a training ground for every believer, giving them the equipment they need to live victoriously, encourage one another, and reach the lost world around them.
3. Multiply Disciples
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. - Matthew 28:19-20
The Great Commission is not just an end goal; it is an everyday strategy placed in the hands of ordinary disciples that will multiply believers and churches anywhere in the world. Multiplication happens as we reach people with the gospel, baptize them, and teach them to go and do the same. Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost. Therefore his church, his people, are to go out and compel them to come to Christ.
